Frequently Asked Questions

BOOKING / PAYMENT

First enter your dates in the search box and hit search, all units that show up are available your dates, there is no need to email and ask for availability, the website will only show you up to the minute units that are available your dates and will not allow you to book a unit that is not available.

Find the unit you wish to book, review the pictures, description, amenities and features that unit offers and make sure it meets your needs. All units can be booked live online instantly. Look for the "BOOK NOW" button on the unit you want, click on that and it will calculate a full breakdown of the stay for you including all taxes and cleaning fees and you just proceed with paying the condo owner right online by most any major credit card.

Within seconds of payment approval, an onscreen confirmation of your stay will appear that you can print out for your records or one will automatically be emailed to you. If you don't see your email confirmation in your inbox, check your junk folder. Your email confirmation will confirm all your condo door codes, Internet passwords, directions, unit information etc. All owners require 30% down, remainder due 30 days before arrival.

There is no resort fee or check in fee on any units on the WaikikiBeachRentals website with the exception of condo 2310 that is serviced by the hotel. All other units show the complete costs on the booking page before you book the condo online. No additional fees are added.

Your email confirmation has all your booking details. It also clearly states final payment is due 30 days before arrival and an easy to use payment link is provided on your confirmation to make your final payment at any time you wish as long as its before 30 days before arrival. It is your responsibility to make payment before 30 days of arrival. There are no reminders of payments unless you are past due and failure to pay on time could meet with cancellation of your reservation and forfeiture of all monies.

After putting in your dates and hitting search, on the header are links you can click on to sort the units by price, unit's numbers or bed types. If you click on any unit, half way down the page is a building layout map that shows you where each unit is located in the building.

Standard condo policy. There are never refunds. As soon as you book the unit, the owner is paying credit card transactions fees, commissions and other fees plus the condo owner is blocking out your dates and turning away lots of other clients as Waikiki is such a popular destination. However, if you do need to cancel, owners that advertise on WaikikiBeachRentals.com have agreed to give renters a full credit to use for that specific unit any available dates in the future for a period of 1 year after the original arrival date at no additional cost, as long as you cancel at least 14 days before your original arrival date. In event of cancellation any and all customer coupon discounts codes are null and voided and will not be offered on new dates for having cancelled previously. If you're rebooking at a higher season, you may have to pay extra so the rate is correct, but there will not be any refunds if you book at a lower season. You can give your dates to family, friends, sell the dates, whatever you wish, they are completely transferable. For those who think they may cancel, we suggest you get travel insurance and seek a refund from the travel insurance agent. All cancellations within 14 days of arrival, for any reason, forfeit all deposits and payments, no exceptions.

The discount coupon code must be used at the time of booking as the stay is charged at that time and therefore cannot be discounted after you have booked your stay. No exceptions can be made.

ARRIVAL INFO

Yes there is a Speedie Shuttle to Waikiki. But we recommend taking a taxi which is usually less expensive if you have 3 or more people and you can wait 1 hour at the airport waiting for the shuttle to fill up. A taxi to Waikiki is only 20 minutes and costs $32-$38 right to the door. There are plenty of taxis at the airport you can just grab, all are reputable and licensed and all taxis use meters. Charley's Taxi (808) 233-3333 has the best deal, a flat rate of $29 to or from the airport to Waikiki.

The Ilikai has great parking options you can view here, as most all Waikiki Oceanfront hotels charge $28 a day or more.

3pm check in, 11am check out.

Normal check in time is 3pm.
Option 1: To guarantee an early check in for your arrival is to book or add the night before to your booking so you can arrive straight to your condo regardless what time you arrive.

Option 2: Early check ins (if available) are allowed to be booked online between 11am HST the day before your arrival to 6am on the date of your arrival. A $35 fee plus tax applies.

The payment link to order and pay for an early check in is located on your email confirmation that contains your door codes. If you deleted that email by mistake, you can go to contact us on the website and ask that it be resent to you, please state unit number and date of arrival. All payments links must be clicked on and can not be retyped.

You can check the availability of an early check by entering the condo number under "specific unit" in the search condo box and pulling up that condo. Then click on more info and check the calendar. If the upper portion of the box on your arrival is red, that means an early arrival is not available and the 3pm check in time is the only option.

If an early check in is not available, the bell captain will hold your bags for $2 each bag till normal check in time.

If you arrive after 6am the day of arrival and did not pay for an early check in then your check in time will be scheduled for 3pm. There is no adjusting for an earlier check in after 6am day of your arrival as cleaners may have 50+ condos to prepare that day and their schedule is already fixed and may not be altered, no exceptions.

Early check ins are allowed to be booked online 28 hours before your scheduled check in time and flights to Hawaii are no longer than 10-12hrs from almost anywhere in the world so there is plenty of time for guests to process the request.

All early check in fees and taxes are 100% non refundable, no exceptions.

Guests can add a late check when booking for $70 plus tax for a studio unit and $145 for a 2 bedroom that will allow them to stay till 9pm. Larger 2 bedroom and Penthouse units charge $175 plus tax. Late check out requests should be requested no later than the day before check out by clicking on contact us page on the website.

During peak high season which are December 15 to March 1st and June 15 to August 15th this option is not available during the booking process and guests must wait and see if the unit is available for a late check out the day before your scheduled check out day.

If you have a late flight home it is always recommended you either book a late check if available to do so. If your dates are high season it is recommended that you book that extra night otherwise you risk having to check out at 11am for the next guest coming in and then you are left without a place for 12hrs+ before your flight late that night.

To request a late check out by email, check the calendar for your unit to make sure no one is checking in that unit your departure day then click on the contact us button on the website and request it by email.

Once you book a late check out and that night is blocked off the calendar so others can not book it, you can not at a later date under any circumstances cancel it or request a refund of that amount. Late check outs are 100% non refundable.

If a late check out is not available, or if the paid late check out does not work for you, the bell captain in the lobby will store your bags for $2 each bag. They do not hold bags overnight for security and liability reasons.

All late check outs for after 11am is considered a full late check out, no partial or discounted rates apply if only extending a few hours as it still impacts the cleaners schedule and availability of the condo for the next guest and its availability online. Late check outs are a privilege extended by the condo owner and not a guest right, owners retain their rights to refuse or cancel this privilege at any time without notice.

Late check outs are an optional courtesy offered by condo owners and not a rental right. Owners reserve the right to refuse a late check out request regardless if available or not.

All units with the exception of unit 2310 have a special touch pad deadbolt lock system. At check in time, you just proceed right to your condo and enter the door code listed on your email confirmation and enter code into door for entry. Once the 4-digit code is entered, the light turns green indicating you entered the correct number and you unlock the deadbolt and enter the room. This makes checking in easy no matter what time you arrive and there are no keys to lose or lines to stand in waiting to check in. There is a welcome sheet with more info inside the room. Make sure to bring the confirmation email with you. It has all necessary phone numbers on it so if you have any issues with your unit, you can call someone to help 24/7.

Yes. Your unique condo door code is activated at your check in time the day of arrival. No one has that code except the condo owner and the owner of the company responsible for cleaning units. If you arrive early and did not request an early check in, the code will not work till 3pm. The code is deleted at 11am on your check out date and a random code is used for the next guest.

Check your specific condo details online. Under the features category it will list "Mailbox Access" if the condo owner you rented from allows access to their mailbox. Honolulu, HI 96815

As stated on your rental contract, owners and owners agents have absolutely no responsibility for any mail you send to the mailbox and under no circumstances will any mail or packages be held, stored or forwarded if mail is not retrieved before your departure. Please make sure any items are well scheduled to arrive only during your stay. The guest prior and after your stay also have access to that box so no owner or agent accepts any liability for items you do not retrieve during your stay.

If "Mailbox Access" is not listed for your condo, then you can still use the address format above to have items courier shipped directly to your condo door with UPS or FedEx but you would have to be present to accept door to door delivery. Do not ship by USPS as you have no access to the mailbox.

The kitchen has all the basics for you to cook meals. Each unit has plates, glasses, bowls, pots, pans, utensils, coffee machine, toaster, rice cooker etc. If you are a gourmet cook, there are specialty items you may want to bring. Owners no longer stock wine glasses. 1000 wine glasses were broken last year and 99% of guests did not pay to replace so owners have stopped that service.

Guests are responsible to inspect and report any damages to the condo upon check in. Any items that are found to have been damaged by the guest, per the rental contract, guests agree to have their credit card debited to cover any costs to repair those items.

Any item from the beach starts to smell fishy after just one day. Beach chairs, boogie boards and umbrellas are sometimes left on lanais if previous guests leave them behind, but they tend to only last a few weeks before they break and are discarded. All other beach items are discarded not only to keep the condo fresh and clean, but for the safety of others as they may be faulty, broken or dangerous to children or adults. Beach items are for rent all down Waikiki Beach or those that are staying longer can purchase them at Wal-Mart, Costco or Sam's Club.

All studio units are 500sf of interior space and 120sf of lanai. 2 bedrooms are 1000sf with balconies from 160sf to 240sf. Penthouses go up to over 2600sf.

If you had to book two units due to lack of availability, the most common question is how best to move unit to unit when there is a 3 hour gap between check out time and check in time. Guests should call Bert Shimabuku (808-223-2264) on the morning of check out and he will assist if possible to make the move as seamless as possible. If that is not possible, the worst-case scenario is to store bags with the bell captain for $2 each bag.

We are the closest oceanfront building to the Convention Center, just a 10-minute walk or 2-minute taxi ride.

There is a small but expensive grocery store in the lobby or an ABC store right across the street near McDonald's or next door to the Diamond Head side. The best store is either Foodland at the Ewa side of Ala Moana Shopping Mall (15 Minute walk) or Don Quixote's at 801 Kaheka St., Honolulu, HI 96814, open 24 hours. For those walking, many people take all their bags back to the condo by taking a $8 Uber or taxi. There is also a Costco (near Home Depot), Sam's Club and a 24 hours Wal-Mart behind the Ala Moana Shopping Center.

It's right next door, a 15 second walk.
